Fees

Who pays what on a Lollipay payment, where to see the breakdown, and what affects the cost of a payout.

Lollipay is the merchant of record: we sell to your customer on your behalf and take care of card processing, sales tax, VAT, fraud screening and disputes.

Card and wallet payments

Card payments carry a processing fee at your plan's rate. Apple Pay and Google Pay are card payments, so the same applies. Your plan follows your volume in the previous calendar month (in USD), so the rate drops as you grow:

PlanMonthly volumeCard fee
StarterUnder $3,0008% + 0.50
Basic$3,000 to $4,9998% + 0.45
Growth$5,000 to $9,9997.5% + 0.40
Scale$10,000 to $19,9996% + 0.35
Enterprise$20,000 and upCustom rate (Scale's until agreed)

The fixed part is in the order's currency. New stores start on Starter. Plan & fees in the dashboard shows your plan, the volume it was based on, and how far you are from the next one.

Who pays the fee

In Plan & fees you choose how much of the fee buyers pay on top of the order, from all of it to none. The checkout shows their part as its own line, Card processing fee, before they pay; the rest comes out of your payout.

Surcharge rules differ by country: in the US, card networks cap surcharges at 3%, and the EU and UK don't allow them on consumer cards. Choose a split that fits where your buyers are.

Crypto payments

The buyer pays the coin amount shown on the checkout, at a price locked when they pick the coin. You receive the order total.

Skins payments

The buyer pays with game items worth at least the order total, and you receive the order total. You pay no fee: Lollipay's share comes from the items' value, including anything the buyer's items are worth above the total.

VAT and GST

Buyers choose their country first on the checkout (we suggest it from where they are). When they pay by credit or debit card, Lollipay, as the merchant of record, adds that country's VAT or GST on top of your price as its own line, like VAT (20%), and files and pays it to the tax authorities. Crypto and skins payments carry no tax line.

The tax is never part of what you earn: your net and your balance leave it out. Countries without a VAT or GST on digital sales (the US, for now) see no tax line.

The breakdown of a payment

Open any payment in Payments to see how it adds up: the order total, the Lollipay fee you paid (with the buyer's part noted under it), refunds, and Net to you.

Payouts

  • Payouts go out once a week when at least $50 is available. See Balance and payouts.
  • Chargebacks cost a $20 dispute fee, on top of the disputed amount. If you win, the amount comes back; the fee doesn't.
  • Bank payouts: what a payout costs depends on the country it goes to: see Pricing.
  • Crypto payouts go out on the network you chose for the wallet, and each network charges its own fee to send. Stablecoins on Tron, BNB Smart Chain and Polygon cost the least. See Crypto payouts.
